Our Story
The Scythe
The Scythe was born as the continuation of a vocation: to rescue, preserve, and give new life to antique pieces with history.
This project originated more than 30 years ago, at the hands of Antonio and Ana, my grandparents, who began by recovering objects at the flea market next to the Alcázar in Jerez de la Frontera and in the surrounding rural area. They bought, collected, cleaned, and restored pieces with a clear criterion: always respecting their essence, their patina, and their identity.
They did not seek to transform the objects, but to preserve their soul.
Over time, those pieces found new homes with people who valued the authentic, the antique, and that which has history. People who understood that an object is not just an object, but memory, culture, and tradition.
Our project
In 2014, as a family, we took the step of creating a shop for buying and selling antique items, gathering all the knowledge and experience passed down through generations:
- Discretion in the selection of pieces
- Respectful restoration
- Honesty in sales
- Real valuation of the object
First, we worked locally.
Then throughout Spain.
Today, we sell in Europe.
Progressive growth, without losing our identity or principles.
We created our own website, learned from scratch, and built our project step by step, with a clear vision: turning the old into a form of the future.
Our Philosophy
We do not sell mass-produced items.
We select unique pieces.
We do not seek volume.
We seek value.
We do not follow trends.
We preserve identity.
La Guadaña is a family project based on tradition, sustainability, reuse, and respect for history.
We believe in a more conscious, more human, and more responsible way of consuming.
Because every piece we recover is a fragment of memory that refuses to disappear.
La Guadaña is not just a store.
It is a way of understanding the past, the present, and the future.
It is a way of loving what is old.
