This writing set is a masterpiece that elegantly combines veined black marble and antique silver-plated metal with a sense of history. The rectangular base is polished with decorative finials at the four corners, supporting two swivel-capped ink bottles with classic reliefs.
On the back, an imperial shield with a double-headed eagle, likely from the House of Habsburg, stands out, featuring a crown and heraldic details. Each metal element has ornamental motifs: fillets, scrolls, and neoclassical fretwork. The writing set includes a front pen tray and a drying pad.
The contrast between marble and metal, along with the heraldic shield , gives it a solemn air typical of royal desks.
