Crystal decanter with spherical stopper
This crystal decanter with stopper combines a traditional function linked to serving drinks with a design clean enough to be left on display when not in use.
It measures 9 x 9 x H25 cm and features an approximately quadrangular body, with transparent faces, sharp corners, and a visually thick crystal base. The upper part tapers towards the neck and ends in a circular mouth upon which an independent crystal stopper with a spherical head is placed.
Due to its dimensions, it can easily be placed on a tray, a sideboard, a display cabinet, or inside a home bar. For those who want to collect different shapes and finishes of glassware, it can be combined with other pieces from the crystal, ceramic, and porcelain section of Cositas Antiguas.
A functional decanter for presenting and serving drinks
The purpose of a decanter is to hold, present, and serve spirits or other drinks, allowing them to be brought to the table or arranged in a home bar in a different way than a commercial bottle.
This piece can continue to be used for that purpose. The stopper has a stem that inserts into the neck of the decanter and can be completely removed when serving.
The catalog includes other related solutions, although with different configurations, such as the crystal decanter with silver neck and cut stopper, which combines crystal with a metallic finish, or the cut crystal decanter with sterling silver and stopper. Both maintain the same idea of presenting and serving drinks, although their ornamentation and materials are different.
In this decanter, on the contrary, the focus is mainly on the transparency of the crystal and the geometry of the body. The absence of intense decoration allows its appearance to depend primarily on the reflections created by light, the edges, and the thickness of the base.
Spherical stopper and quadrangular body
The stopper is one of its main visual elements. Its large, practically spherical head contrasts with the straight lines of the body and acts as a top finish for the whole piece.
The photographs show it both in place and completely separated, clearly showing the mouth of the decanter and the stem of the stopper.
The quadrangular body also favors stable placement on a flat surface. If you are looking for other geometric decanters in the catalog, you can compare it with the 23 cm cut crystal decanter with silver neck, whose body also uses an approximately quadrangular structure, although with a different decorative treatment.

A piece that can be used or kept in sight
It is not necessary to reserve this decanter solely for decoration. It can fully reclaim the proper function of this type of vessel and be used during an after-dinner conversation, a meeting, or a celebration to present and serve a drink.
When it remains empty, its transparent body and spherical stopper allow it to also be used as a decorative piece within a glassware arrangement. It can also be accompanied by glasses or tumblers on a tray, or placed next to other decanters of different heights.
For example, a decanter set with six crystal glasses shows another way to bring this type of glassware directly to table service.
To use this piece with drinks, I recommend performing a careful cleaning of the interior and a personal check of the condition of the crystal and the fit of the stopper beforehand, especially since it is a second-hand piece.
