Wrought Iron Cooper Marker with Letter P: Authentic and Unique Piece
This cooper's marker is an original piece of traditional forging, historically used to mark barrels, casks, and wooden pieces within the cooperage. Its end clearly displays the letter P , an identifying mark typical of artisans or old wineries. Measuring 72 x 8.5 cm , this cooper's marker stands out for its length, robustness, and entirely handmade construction, showcasing exceptional blacksmithing.

The rectangular shape and perfectly defined cavity of the marking end confirm that this is a cooper's mark used to imprint the initial directly onto hot or treated wood. The dark patina, natural wear, and traces of fire damage give it character, history, and authenticity, making it very difficult to find in this condition.
We have 2 units available, both with the same P mark, but each with its own small signs of aging, making them unique, limited and unrepeatable pieces for collectors, decorators, wineries or lovers of antique cooperage.

Why is it such a special piece?
The cooper's mark is a historical object that was part of the traditional barrel-making process. It didn't just mark a piece; it marked identity, ownership, and origin.
